Clara is a seven-year-old girl, she has finished year 1 and she comes to my care in the School Holiday Program. She is very social and loves to play with the other children. She enjoys doing craft and drawing. Her most favourite activity is to use her imagination and play dramatic play with the other children. When playing dramatic play, Clara can get these benefits: Dramatic play teaches self-regulation, dramatic play gives her an emotional outlet, dramatic play supports literacy and dramatic play also allows me to support her and encourage her ideas. In this school holiday, I baked pizzas with her and other children. We also made pancakes and popcorn together. Benefits of Cooking with Clara: Increases Language Development,Enhances Fine Motor Skills, increases Math Ability and teaches Life Skills. Every day at group time I encourage her to read at least one book to everyone, And she does.

Forward planning:

I will encourage Clara to use her imagination in her drawing. We will do excursions with her in the next school holiday. I will also encourage her to do more reading and gain knowledge about literacy.

  1. I’d forgotten about this one!
Clara also really loves reading; we might pack some books with her during the next school holidays but she really enjoys reading to the younger children too
